An authentic Japanese sushi plate, made in Japan from ceramic, in a classic oblong form carrying the iconic Seikaiha wave in rich indigo blue and white, edged in warm brown. The glaze is smooth and considered — fired in the tradition of tougei (陶芸), where the relationship between clay, glaze, and kiln is everything. Suitable for sushi, sashimi, appetisers, and desserts.

Seikaiha (青海波) traces back to the Nara period (710–794), where it appeared in the silk robes of imperial court musicians. The overlapping waves symbolise peace, good fortune, and an untroubled future. Over a thousand years later, it still appears on Noh theatre robes, lacquerware, and ceramics — unchanged, because it needs no improvement.
