A large brown ceramic pot (called nabe or donabe pot) with a lovely indigo blue and light grey lid. Exclusive to The Japanese Shop and made in Japan, it can be used in an oven or directly onto a gas or electric (but not induction) hob! Nabe usually contains different ingredients that are served while the soup is still boiling and commonly enjoyed in the cold winter months! These days, nabe pots can be kept hot on the dining table by using a portable stove and the diners can choose the cooked ingredients they want from the pot.
