The Hakone Japanese Print is based on an original Japanese woodblock print by the famous artist, Utagawa Hiroshige, 1797-1858. Hiroshige was born in the shogun's capital of Edo, now Tokyo and is considered to be the last great master of the woodblock or ukiyo-e. In the Japan of his day, his prints fostered a new and far reaching appreciation for nature in art, and in the west, his woodblock prints influenced artists such as Whistler, Cezanne and Gaughin.

Made using a matt 250gsm conservation digital paper, a very versatile high quality paper made from acid and chlorine free wood pulp.
