The Tenmoku Japanese Donabe Casserole Pot is an authentic Japanese nabe pot used to make delicious and healthy stews, casseroles and hot pots! This is a good size ceramic pot (called nabe or donabe pot) with a deep rich dark grey-brown matt glaze and a contrasting black gloss lid with brown edge detail. Exclusive to The Japanese Shop and made in Japan from earthenware, it can be used in an oven or directly onto a gas or electric (but not induction) hob! Nabe typically contains different ingredients that are served while still boiling so is usually enjoyed in the winter months. These days, nabe pots can be kept hot on the dining table by a portable stove and the diners can choose the cooked ingredients they want from the pot. It is either eaten with the broth or with a dip and further ingredients can also be added to the pot. Dishwasher and microwave safe and suitable for home or restaurant use.
